Overnight Care Services Nurse; LPN | Part-Time

Job Overview

Long Term Care Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) provides professional nursing care for residents of all ages in long term care, under the supervision of a registered nurse, advanced practice provider, or physician.

• 12 Hour Night Shifts (6pm-630am)
• Full time positions
• 15,000 Sign On Bonus available
• Nebraska Rural Health Workforce Incentive Program: stipends between $7,500 and $75,000 per year for a five‑year service commitment in rural communities
• Rotating weekends and holidays
• Shift differentials available for night (6pm-6am) and weekend shifts

• Provides professional nursing care for residents of all ages under supervision of RN, advanced practice provider, or physician
• Demonstrates competence in nursing principles, utilizing age and population specific standards related to physical and psychosocial needs of the resident as per care plan
• Performs testing to evaluate data reflective of resident's status and provides necessary care
• Ensures health, comfort and safety of residents
• Contributes to assessment of residents and administers medications or treatments as ordered
• Provides technical support to healthcare professionals as needed
• Documents resident interactions and outcomes related to care, medication, behavior, activity, and diet
• Establishes and maintains effective working relationships with residents, health care providers, and the public
• Works effectively as part of an interdisciplinary care team
• Counsels residents, family members or advocate on prevention and treatment plans under direction of RN, advanced practice provider, or physician
• Develops self‑care programs based on resident education principles

• Graduate from an accredited practical nursing program as a Licensed Practical Nurse
• Associate degree in practical nursing preferred
• Currently holds an unencumbered Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license with state nursing board and/or possesses multi‑state licensure privileges
• Completed minimum 400 hours of LPN experience or supervised clinical experience across the lifespan
• Completes required annual continuing education units (CEU) and competency training requirements of the department and facility
• If position requires IV therapy/management skills, must have graduated from a Board‑approved AASPN program where IV therapy is part of the curriculum or completed an IV Therapy course approved by the North Dakota Board of Nursing
