Position: RN - FT Nights - Long Term Care

Shift Information

Work shift:

12‑hour night shifts (6p.m.–6:30a.m.). Scheduled weekly hours: 40. Shift differentials available for night and weekend shifts. Sign‑on bonus: $15,000. This is a union position:

Job Summary

The Long Term Care (LTC) Registered Nurse (RN) utilizes the nursing process—assessment, diagnosis, outcomes/planning, implementation, and evaluation—to provide individualized nursing care to residents. The RN collaborates with residents, families, and interdisciplinary colleagues, including providers, to plan, implement, and evaluate care.

Responsibilities
  • Demonstrate competency and practice within the full scope of nursing expertise/knowledge, using age and population‑specific standards as designated in the assigned clinical setting.
  • Care for residents in all phases of preventative care, health maintenance, diagnosis, and treatment.
  • Coordinate care, conduct resident assessment, provide resident education, and perform various nursing interventions.
  • Serve as charge nurse when required, delegating appropriate tasks to licensed and unlicensed assistive personnel within job descriptions, required skills, resident care needs, and competency level.
  • Provide adequate assistance and support to delegates to ensure safe, reliable administration of resident care and resolution of care and service concerns.
  • Operate within the scope and standards of nursing practice outlined in the Nurse Practice Act, Administrative Rules in the state, and the American Nurses Association Code of Ethics for Nurses.
Qualifications
  • Graduate from a nationally accredited nursing program preferred (CCNE, ACEN, NLNCNEA). A Bachelor’s Degree in nursing preferred.
  • Holds an unencumbered RN license with the State Board of Nursing where practice occurs, or possesses multistate licensure for a Nurse Licensure Compact state.
  • Obtain and maintain required department‑specific competencies and certifications.
