Description:
The unit treats an average of 12 patients per day.
Nurse-to-patient ratios typically range from 1:1 to 1:3.Staff includes 2 RNs and 1 LPN or RN.Common diagnoses include strokes, myocardial infarctions, and trauma.
The facility stabilizes and transfers critical patients as needed.
Common drips include insulin gtt, pain management, and TPA.Mid-level providers are available at all times.
Charge Nurse and House Supervisor roles are shared, sometimes with patient assignments.
There are 2 techs on staff to assist with patient care.
Paramedics are available to assist with patient needs during all shifts.
Respiratory Therapy services are available during the day.
The hospital maintains a laboratory on site that operates 24/7.Nurses have the capability to draw labs from IV starts.
Shifts are organized by management, with scheduling preferences taken into consideration.
Weekend requirements will involve every other or third weekend.
Nurses may be required to float between departments during shifts.
Scrubs are not provided, and any color is acceptable.
Orientation consists of a full day of training along with departmental orientations.
