Colonial Acres of Humboldt is a Medicare/Medicaid certified nursing home and assisted living facility located in Humboldt, Nebraska. The facility includes 49 long-term care beds and 14 assisted living apartments designed to support residents' comfort and independence. Assisted living options feature one-bedroom and spacious studio apartments with private bathrooms, showers, and mini kitchens equipped with a microwave and refrigerator. Colonial Acres provides in-patient and out-patient physical, occupational, and speech therapy in a state-of-the-art setting, supporting a broad range of resident needs.

Team members work in a collaborative environment focused on quality care and resident well-being.

Role Description

The Assistant Director of Nursing is a full-time, on-site leadership role located in Humboldt, NE. This role supports the Director of Nursing in overseeing daily nursing operations, ensuring high standards of resident care, and maintaining regulatory compliance. Day-to-day responsibilities include supervising nursing staff, assisting with scheduling, coordinating care plans, and monitoring clinical practices in long-term care and assisted living. The Assistant Director of Nursing helps implement and evaluate infection control procedures, collaborates with physicians and interdisciplinary team members, and participates in quality improvement initiatives.

The role also involves mentoring nursing team members, supporting staff development and training, and contributing to a positive, resident-centered culture.

Qualifications
  • Demonstrated Nursing Management and leadership skills, including staff supervision, scheduling, and coordination of resident care.
  • Clinical expertise in Nursing and Medicine appropriate to long-term care and assisted living settings.
  • Knowledge of Infection Control practices, policies, and regulatory requirements in skilled nursing and assisted living facilities.
  • Experience in Long-term Care with an understanding of geriatric care, resident rights, and person-centered approaches.
  • Current RN license in the state of Nebraska (or eligibility for licensure) and graduation from an accredited nursing program.
  • Strong communication, documentation, and interpersonal skills for collaboration with residents, families, and interdisciplinary teams.
  • Ability to prioritize, organize, and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced clinical environment.
  • Prior supervisory or charge nurse experience in a skilled nursing or assisted living facility preferred.
  • Knowledge of Medicare/Medicaid regulations and survey readiness is beneficial.
