Job TitleRegistered Nurse – Med/Surg & Emergency Room

Schedule / Job TypeContract | Full-Time | 36 hours/week | Days or Nights
Key Responsibilities- Perform comprehensive nursing care including observing and recording signs and symptoms, administering sterile treatments, and assisting with patient rehabilitation according to medical and nursing plans
- Prepare, administer, and document oral, subcutaneous, intramuscular, and intravenous medications using barcode scanning within an electronic health system; monitor and discontinue IV lines as appropriate
- Provide nursing care across multiple units including Emergency Room, Med/Surg, Labor/Delivery/Recovery, and Nursery, assuming responsibility for total patient care when assigned
- Observe and provide care to obstetrical patients through labor, delivery, and post-partum stages, as well as newborn care, following demonstration of competence
- Participate in nursing care planning, quality assurance programs, in-service education, committee work, and staff orientation and training
- Observe, record, and report patient conditions to appropriate personnel; maintain accurate and complete patient records and transcribe physician orders
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing with a current, valid state Registered Nurse license
- Current CPR certification required
- Current ACLS certification required
- Current TNCC certification required
- Current NRP certification required
- Current STABLE certification required
- Experience in a combined Med/Surg and Emergency Room setting
- Familiarity with obstetrical and newborn patient care
- Proficiency with electronic health record systems including barcode medication administration
- Strong communication skills and ability to provide leadership in medical situations in the absence of a physician
