Location:

Ashland, NE. This position is located at Lee G. Simmons Conservation Park and Wildlife Safari (16406 N. 292 Street, Ashland, NE 68003) and reports directly to the Supervisor at the Wildlife Safari Park.

Join the team at our Wildlife Safari Park, where you will care for North America’s iconic wildlife – from bison and elk to wolves, bears, and waterfowl – across 440 acres of woodlands and grasslands. Keepers play a hands‑on role in animal husbandry, enrichment, and conservation breeding programs for species such as cheetahs and tigers.

• Provide daily care, feeding, and habitat maintenance for a diverse animal collection.
• Observe and document animal behaviors and provide daily enrichment.
• Assist in hand‑rearing of animals.
• Maintain organized, well‑stocked food preparation and cleaning areas.
• Assist in park projects including habitat improvements and repairs.

• Strong communication skills to work effectively with team members and engage guests.
• Knowledge of animal husbandry for various species.
• Ability to work independently and with others.
• Creativity and innovation to design enclosures and develop engaging enrichment.

• Valid state driver’s license.
• Minimum age 18 years.
• Bachelor’s degree in Zoology, Biology, or related field preferred.

• Work occurs both indoors and outdoors; all weather conditions possible.
• Moderate physical effort required, with lift up to 50 pounds using safe lifting methods.
• Potential exposure to physical risk.
• Variable schedule including weekends and holidays.
