Gretna Public Schools is seeking a full‑time Grounds Crew member to perform landscape maintenance, equipment operation, and support services for the district.

Responsibilities- Knowledge of all aspects of landscape maintenance and repair.
- Operate and maintain a range of landscaped equipment including lawn aerator, mowing equipment, tractor, push mower, string trimmer, pump sprayer, snowblower, salt spreader, and related tools.
- Perform routine maintenance tasks: mowing, trimming, edging, tree/shrub pruning, planting, bed care, irrigation, and athletic field upkeep.
- Operate irrigation systems, including repairs and maintenance.
- Work independently or with minimal supervision, following directions, assignments, schedules and procedures.
- Provide snow removal services at all hours, including weekdays, weekends, and holidays.
- Interact and communicate respectfully with staff, students, coworkers, and the public.
- Remain flexible and adjust quickly to changing demands.
- Drive district vehicles and travel to job sites, including vans, commercial trucks, and trailers.
- Serve as a positive member of the community, upholding the district’s reputation and image.
- Refrain from conduct that interferes with district operations or the education of students.
- Adhere to district policies, rules, regulations, and supervisory directives.
- Maintain confidentiality regarding staff, students, and parents per law and district rules.
- Follow the code of ethics of the district and the Nebraska Department of Education (NDE Rule 27).
- High school diploma or GED.
- Custodial and maintenance experience preferred.
- Unrestricted motor vehicle operator’s license with a satisfactory driving record per board policy.
- Good knowledge of grounds care, equipment operation, and irrigation systems.
