Papillion La Vista Community Schools is seeking a dependable and experienced Grounds Keeper to oversee the care, maintenance, and appearance of district grounds, landscape areas, and athletic fields. This position is responsible for maintaining various types of grounds and cultivated flora across the district campuses, as well as the care, preparation, and marking of athletic fields at the district's secondary schools.

During the Summer months, this position develops mowing and grounds maintenance schedules and supervises summer crew personnel. During the winter months, the position assists with snow and ice control and serves as the primary contact for custodial staff regarding grounds-related needs. Must be able to perform all responsibilities in a manner that maximizes the effective use of district funds, equipment, materials and other resources.

High School Diploma, Associate Degree or Certificate of completion in an approved horticulture/arborist program. Two years of grounds maintenance and landscape management and practical experience in work force supervision preferred. Must be able to read and comprehend written work instruction (instructions on the correct use, care of equipment and chemicals and measurements). Has the ability to detect job-related information based on sensory perception (touch and odor).

And be able to make independent job-related decisions with little supervision. Tolerance of working in the outdoor environment with extreme temperatures.

Must have a Nebraska State Driver's license with a good driving record. Must be capable of obtaining a State of Nebraska Pesticide applicator Certificate.

Hourly Rate: $ 28.47
