General Labor, Food Production
- Driving, sorting, weighing, tattooing, marking, and penning livestock.
- Maintaining accurate inventories and headcounts.
- Performing light building maintenance and showcase duties when not working with livestock.
- Moving hogs safely and effectively with minimal stress to the animals, following all humane handling guidelines.
- Performing other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
- All Tyson Team Members are responsible for personal and food safety.
- Education:
High School diploma or equivalent preferred. - Experience:
- 1 year of prior experience handling and working with livestock in loading/unloading operations preferred.
- Experience with skid loaders operation preferred.
- Experience in livestock handling within the meat industry and knowledge of humane animal handling procedures preferred.
- Computer
Skills:
Basic computer knowledge preferred. - Communication
Skills: - Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to communicate in stressful situations with all levels (hourly employees to upper management) and government officials.
- Ability to lift 70+ pounds unassisted.
- Ability to stand for extended periods (8–10 hours, excluding breaks).
- Strong observation skills and conscientiousness about animal treatment.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Must be available to work extended hours as required by management.
