Responsibilities may include collecting, disposing, and maintaining records of urine specimens; conducting drug screenings; maintaining the inventory of testing supplies and equipment testifying in court; reporting and documenting testing results; ensuring documentation procedures are done in accordance with policies and procedures;

and providing training on testing result documentation.

Travel:

This position will test primarily in Falls City and Pawnee City, but could be asked to travel to other locations in the district to assist.

Work Schedule:

Early Morning Position .This position will require candidates to be in their testing location and ready to begin testing by 5am.

Non-traditional hours may be required.

Salary and Compensation:

Starting Salary: $ 31,985.62 annually (Hiring Rate).Immediate Growth*:
Earn a 2.5% pay increase after successfully completing your probation period (if starting at Hiring Rate).Starting Rate Flexibility:
Higher starting pay may be considered based on education and experience, subject to final management approval.

* Please Note:

Candidates approved to start above the Hiring Rate (at or above the Minimum Permanent rate) are not eligible for the 2.5% post-probation increase.

Future Increases:
Annual cost-of-living adjustments (applied on July
1) are subject to State Legislature approval.

Job Duties
1. Greets clients, collects testing forms and accompanies to drug testing area.
2. Conduct drug screening in accordance with established systems and procedures using approved testing methodologies. This includes obtaining urine specimen from Probationers, recording, and reporting results.
3. Stores testing samples in secure location and ensures chain of custody procedures are observed at all times.
4. Maintains drug testing supplies and equipment inventory.
5. Performs other duties of a similar nature or level.

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

High School Diploma or equivalent.

All educational credits must be granted from an accredited institution approved by the U.S. Dept. of Education.

Preferred Qualifications :
Prior substance abuse or chemical testing training and working with the offender population.

Knowledge:

Drug screening and chemical testing methodology.

Safe work methods and procedures.

Applicable testing equipment.

Recordkeeping principles.

Basic inventory management principles.

Computers and related software applications.

Skills:

Performing drug screening.

Collecting applicable samples.

Maintaining specimen records.

Monitoring inventory and supply levels.

Maintaining operational records.

Using a computer and related software applications.

Utilizing communication and interpersonal skills as applied to interaction with coworkers, supervisors, the general public and others to sufficiently exchange or convey information and to receive work direction.
