First Article Specialist

Description

The First Article Specialist is responsible for translating engineering design requirements into inspection plans and works both sides of inspection:
1) creation of inspection plans and
2) review/approval of completed inspection plans. The First Article Specialist may also assist with shop floor documentation, illustrations and graphics to demonstrate the manufacturing or verification processes.

• Review data and models for engineering and quality requirements and compile said requirements.
• Review CMM inspection plans to engineering and quality requirements.
• Develop inspection plans to support process capability and verification (reference ICLS, AS9102, receiving inspection check list by form #’s)
• Review FAI documentations for approval.
• Develop and track FAI signals to ensure necessary resource allocation to achieve OTD.
• Coordinate source inspection dates and handle onsite customer source inspection.
• Perform tasks on schedule, and coordinate schedule with department and other necessary personnel.
• Ability to maintain regular, punctual, and reliable attendance as set by the supervisor according to handbook guidelines consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state, and local standards.
• Abide by all safety, quality, personnel, and other policies as applicable.
• Train and then maintain customer inspection capabilities (Ex. Sikorsky (DQR), MR (DSQR)).

Ideal candidates will have experience with ISO
9001 or AS9100 Quality systems.
