Location: Boys Town
Maintenance Mechanic I
Now Hiring for Maintenance Mechanic I – $1,000 hiring bonus.
Schedule:
Monday‑Friday 11a.m. – 7p.m. Includes shift differential.
- Operate and maintain all mechanical equipment (HVAC, water heaters, pumps, chilled water, steam systems, plumbing, electrical, lighting, and utilities).
- Use power tools and hand tools to make necessary adjustments and repairs.
- Read and record meters, gauges, printouts and other devices; log daily utility usage and inspect mechanical rooms.
- Operate building automation controls and edit setpoints (building, lighting, fire, security).
- Provide electrical maintenance—repair wiring, fixtures, motors, controls, appliances, and other electrical systems.
- Repair and maintain plumbing systems, including cleaning and replacing line plugs and breaks.
- Monitor building hardware (doors, locks, hinges) and complete cabinet, counter top, table repair.
- Carry out preventive maintenance and maintain associated records.
- Document completed work and time for the work‑order system.
- Initiate purchasing requests for needed materials and supplies.
- Perform small projects to upgrade or change buildings as requested.
- Respond to mechanical breakdowns or emergencies as required.
- Observe equipment installation, detect hazards, and coordinate with contractors.
- Apply blueprint knowledge and component design to ensure maximum efficiency and code compliance.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- At least one year of building maintenance experience in HVAC, plumbing, or electrical preventive maintenance.
- Knowledge of chilled water, steam, and hot water heating systems.
- Valid driver’s license with a good driving record and annual Motor Vehicle Registration (MVR) check.
Now Hiring for Maintenance Mechanic II – $2,000 hiring bonus.
Schedule:
Monday‑Friday 11a.m. – 7p.m.; 3p.m. – 11p.m. shift differential.
- Operate and maintain all mechanical equipment with intermediate to advanced knowledge (HVAC, water heaters, pumps, chilled water, steam systems, plumbing, electrical, lighting, and utilities).
- Use power tools and hand tools to make necessary adjustments and repairs.
- Read and record meters, gauges, printouts and other devices; log daily utility usage and inspect mechanical rooms.
- Create work orders to schedule and document repairs.
- Operate building automation controls and edit setpoints (building, lighting, fire, security).
- Provide safe electrical maintenance—repair wiring, fixtures, motors, controls, appliances, and other electrical systems.
- Repair and maintain plumbing systems, including cleaning and replacing line plugs and breaks.
- Monitor building hardware (doors, locks, hinges) and complete cabinet, counter top, table repair.
- Carry out preventive maintenance and maintain associated records.
