Job Summary:
If you're interested in a Field Inspector job, then this is the best role for you! Field Inspectors support seed production and field scouting activities by collecting and recording quality data using company-issued devices. The role involves traveling between agricultural fields to assess crop conditions such as silk percentage and pollen counts. Work is physical and requires walking long distances across varied terrain as well as supporting indoor seed production and processing tasks during peak seasons.
- Author technical agronomic content from research and drafting through final review
- Collect quality field data using a company-issued iPhone or handheld device
- Scout agricultural fields for silk percentage, pollen counts, and other crop indicators
- Travel daily from a central meeting point in Waco to various field locations (up to 1 hour away)
- Support indoor seed processing and packaging (receiving, scanning, cleaning, treating, sorting, labeling, warehousing)
- Assist with outdoor agricultural tasks including planting, pollinating, data entry, and hand harvesting
- Perform preventive maintenance on assigned equipment when required
- Support R&D activities including electronic data collection in field and laboratory settings
- Assist manufacturing operations such as seed organization, storage, and inventory tracking
- Perform physical tasks including bending, lifting, sitting, and standing for long periods
- Work extended hours during peak seasonal periods
- Ability to walk multiple miles daily across varied terrain
- Basic understanding of data entry using mobile devices or computers
- Familiarity with MS Office (Excel preferred) and standard software systems
- Basic mechanical aptitude for equipment troubleshooting and operation Education/Training/Certifications
- High school diploma or GED required, or equivalent experience
- Must pass a drug screening and background check
- Start Time: 07:00 AM
- Must adhere to site safety requirements and standard operating procedures (SOPs)
- Must be able to perform physically demanding work (lifting, bending, standing, walking)
- Willingness to travel daily between field locations using personal vehicle (mileage reimbursed from Waco site only)
- Must be available for extended hours during peak seasons
- All training will be provided on the job
- Estimated Salary: $14.00 to $22.00 per hour. Compensation will be offered within this posted range based on experience, skills, and market factors.
