Summer Internship / Work Study Apprentice at Clearwater, NE

Boyd's Electrical Service offers a part‑time paid internship for students or individuals interested in the electrical trade. The role is typically during summer months and is available to those aged 18 or older. The position will provide hands‑on experience in a diverse electrical contracting company, including large three‑phase services, IT networking, and apprenticeship registration for those not yet registered.

The Apprentice Electrician will work under the supervision of a Journeyman Electrician and company management. Responsibilities include learning to install and maintain electrical systems safely and in accordance with the National Electrical Code. Candidates do not need to hold an Apprentice Registration at this time.

• At least 18 years of age by the first day of employment
• Maintain a safe work environment for self and colleagues
• Hold a valid driver’s license
• Willingness to listen, learn, and grow in the electrical trade
• Ownership and pride in work quality
• Operate power tools such as threaders, benders, tuggers, drills, etc.
• Operate excavating equipment such as trenchers, excavators, skid loaders, aerial lifts, etc.
• Measure, calculate, bend, and thread metallic conduit
• Pull wire and cable through raceways, manually or with tugging equipment
• Clean, retrieve tools or materials, and perform tasks that improve safety and efficiency
• Lift up to and in excess of 75 pounds
• Climb ladders, stairs, and scaffolds
• Terminate circuit and control wiring from low voltage to 480 VAC
• Work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions
• Work at heights such as on top of a grain elevator
• Work long hours as needed
• Travel to jobsites within the Nebraska area as needed
• Communicate effectively and professionally with the Journeyman Electrician, customer employees, and company staff
