Pay Rate: $28.00 and up per hour based on experience

S  Underground in Omaha, NE is looking for motivated individuals to join our team. We have an immediate opening for a full-time General Laborer. Hours of operation are Monday
- Friday 7am to 5pm with some overtime and weekends. Candidates must complete a pre-employment drug screen and background check.

Employees in this position perform tasks involving physical labor at construction sites. This may include operating hand and power tools of all types, cleaning and preparing job sites, digging trenches, setting braces to support the sides of excavations, erecting scaffolding, cleaning up waste materials, and assisting other craft workers.

Responsibilities:

Our Underground Utilities Pipe fitters are responsible for preparing and installing underground pipelines, water lines, storm and sanitary sewer. Their duties also include general labor and cleanup and may extend beyond this job description. An Underground Utility Pipe Layerfor S  Underground performs skilled work to install, troubleshoot and maintain underground utility systems. These duties include:

  • Install sanitary sewer, storm water sewer and consumable water structures and pipe systems.
  • Lay out pipe routes, following specifications or blueprints and coordinating layouts with supervisor.
  • Cut pipes to required lengths.
  • Assist in aligning pipes during pipeline construction.
  • Align and position pipes to prepare them for welding or sealing.
  • Check slopes for conformance to requirements, using levels or lasers.
  • Connect pipe pieces and seal joints, using welding equipment, cement or glue.
  • Tap and drill holes into pipes to introduce auxiliary lines or devices.
  • Cover pipes with earth or other materials.
  • Grade and level trench bases, using tamping machines and hand tools.
  • Intimate and working knowledge of industry standard hand signals.
  • Train others in pipe-laying techniques.
  • Other general labor and construction related duties as required.
Environmental Working Conditions
  • All work is performed outside in heat, cold, and inclement weather.

  • Exposure to fumes, odors, gasses, dusts, etc.
  • Work in close proximity to heavy traffic
