Fiber Drop Technician

A career with the Allo Drop team (FTTP) is both challenging and rewarding. Because there are no two homes or buildings alike, installing fiber to the premise (FTTP) requires mental flexibility, physical dexterity, and a willingness to constantly adapt to changing conditions. There is no “business as usual” in this position; you’ll arrive on the job each day to find a totally new environment, new questions, new challenges, and new ways to get the job done right.

High school diploma or equivalent.

Preferred:
Physical labor experience.

• Thorough knowledge of ALLO construction procedures.
• Ability to gain knowledge of fiber construction and materials.
• Basic knowledge of Excel, Microsoft Word, and the ability to learn Smartsheets.
• Strong communication skills with internal and external customers, contractors, and company employees.
• Ability to work evenings and weekends.
• Ability to travel outside of the home office area for extended periods of time based on project and business need.

• Operate a company vehicle and maintain a valid driver’s license.
• Pull a trailer with equipment loaded on it, including hooking up and backing up.
• Perform general maintenance for vehicle and trailers (work DOT inspection sheet, etc.).
• Keep truck and trailer clean and organized.
• Work power tools and climb ladders up to 35ft.
• Run heavy walk‑behind machinery; read a measuring tape.
• Use a personal cell phone for business purposes.
• Work solo or with a team; handle small items such as splice ends, snips and cleavers.
• Be punctual, ready to work, and able to drive a lift truck (preferred, not required).

• Raise objects up to 100lbs.
• Remain upright on feet for extended periods.
• Communicate information effectively.
• Crouch, crawl, bend, kneel, and stand as needed.
• Ascend/descend ladders safely.
• Carry tools and equipment.
• Operate a computer, hand tools, and machinery.
• Work outdoors, including in extreme weather.

• Aerial ladder:
  Less than 350lbs including equipment.
• Bucket:
  Less than 250lbs including equipment.

10% travel requirement away from immediate home office area.
