Maintenance Technician / Mechanic
Overview
Position will be responsible for performing repairs and routine maintenance on machinery, equipment, and facilities within or outside the plant to maintain optimal uptime of production equipment and upkeep of the facility. May perform wiring, plumbing, electrical/mechanical maintenance, repair, and installation. May do simple set up operation of machinery/equipment and be on call for emergency maintenance.
Responsibilities- Diagnose machine malfunctions and operating difficulties; effect repairs and adjustments as needed.
- Install, repair, rebuild, and otherwise maintain facility equipment.
- Perform minor fabrication of parts using mills, lathes, grinders, etc.
- Support manufacturing processes.
- Complete all required paperwork, quality records, documents, etc.
- Perform competent electrical construction of conduit runs, wire pulls, terminations, and electrical component installations.
- Maintain PLCs, CNC control circuits, and primary power.
- Comply with all safety and work rules and regulations.
- Maintain departmental housekeeping standards.
- 1–3 years of work experience in manufacturing maintenance or equivalent education.
- Demonstrated proficiency in hydraulic, pneumatic, mechanical, and electrical operations.
- Knowledge of 480V three‑phase, control power, AC and DC circuits including motor starters and switch gear repairs.
- Strong troubleshooting skills and proficiency in shop mathematics and blueprint reading.
- Experience with hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
- Ability to work in confined spaces and high work areas.
- Proficiency with heat/temperature controls.
- Self‑sufficient, initiative‑driven, good written and verbal communication.
- Ability to operate scissor lift, boom lift, forklift, and lift 50lbs.
- Ability to perform frequent standing, walking, bending, kneeling, crouching, climbing, reaching, stretching, twisting, etc.
- Associate’s technical degree or equivalent.
- Knowledge of gas‑fired burners and boilers.
- Must work any shift; some work may be outside, including on rooftops.
- Required to wear NFp7e Arc Flash uniforms provided by Copeland.
- Tools provided by company.
