Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesIncludes, but is not limited to, the following:
- Abiding by Company Safety Program and Policies, while performing duties safely.
- Assisting in accident investigation.
- Serving as the supervisor in the field to exercise technical and functional supervision over the operators at the assigned site.
- Monitoring crew performance and behaviors in the field and reporting work progress, challenges, incidents and accidents, and employee conduct and performance to the appropriate supervisor.
- Communicating supervisor expectations to work crew regarding work practices and procedures, safety, and compliance with the company's policies.
- Setting an example to crew members in following Company policies and safety regulations, and in maintaining a positive working relationship with co-workers, supervisors, and company leadership.
- Evaluating work procedures and processes and ensuring that safe work practices are being followed by crew members under his/her lead.
- Following all safety policies and procedures and holding safety meetings with crew members.
- Recommending improvements and repairs to be made to equipment.
- Evaluating work requirements and determining work schedule.
- Ensuring safe and efficient operation of the plant through maintenance, inspection and repair of the equipment and operating conditions of the plant.
- Assisting in performing preventive maintenance and repairs on equipment.
- Operating equipment based on production schedules to assure appropriate sequence of operations.
- Keeping site facilities clean and safe for efficient operation.
- Inspecting equipment before and during use.
- Training employees on proper operation of equipment.
- Attending and participating in required trainings.
- Performing other related duties as assigned.
This job trains, directs, and oversees the work of others assigned to the site.
Education and/orExperience:
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and
- three years of work-related experience; or
- an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Valid NE drivers' license and be insurable under the company's insurance program.
Skills and Abilities:
- Must possess mechanical aptitude.
- Able to operate with minimal supervision and take initiative to investigate and resolve problems.
- Must be a self-starter.
- Must be able to work well with others.
- Requires knowledge and use of skills and abilities related to leading a crew of workers including the ability to build a cohesive team to accomplish goals, listen to input provided by crew members and respond appropriately, and communicate information in ways that build trust and support.
- Able to read operating and maintenance manuals, and drawings.
- Able to effectively communicate with others and give oral and written instructions.
- Required to clearly write reports with correct use of language.
- Must be able to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
