Who You Are
You care deeply about children and the families who open their homes to them. You believe safety, stability, and healing are built through strong, consistent relationships, and you approach this work with both compassion and accountability. You’re attentive to details, steady in complexity, and able to navigate systems and documentation without losing sight of the people they exist to serve.
What You’ll Do- Support children and foster families through regular fieldwork. You’ll conduct home visits, attend court hearings and Family Team Meetings, assist with transportation when needed, participate in events, maintain consistent communication with families, and serve in on‑call rotations.
- Maintain accurate reports and documentation. You’ll complete required monthly reports, keep organized digital and physical case records, and ensure all documentation—such as placement and incident reports—is submitted accurately and on time.
- Collaborate with your team and supervisor. You’ll participate in regular supervision, team meetings, and cross‑functional conversations that support alignment, problem‑solving, and shared responsibility for children in care.
- Advocate for children and continue professional growth. You’ll apply trauma‑informed practices, serve as a liaison to ensure children receive needed supports, and complete ongoing training to strengthen your skills and effectiveness.
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
- Bachelor’s degree in social work, counseling, education, or a related human services field REQUIRED.
- Knowledge of or training in Nebraska’s foster care system preferred.
- Prior experience managing foster care families preferred.
Education is required. Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree as above. Additional training or certifications in child welfare or related areas is a plus.
Work Schedule & Setting
This is a full‑time (40 hours per week) position. Some evenings are required to support foster families, with occasional weekend responsibilities. Work is primarily based in the office, with flexibility for home visits, court‑related meetings, and other off‑site appointments.
