Specialized Populations Officer

Overview

Specialized Populations Officer position located in Falls City, NE. Responsible for case management and supervision of high-risk individuals in the Problem-Solving Court program, post-release supervision, or other high-risk adult and juvenile probationers, including sex offenders, domestic violence offenders, and drug offences.

• Provide case management, supervision, and cognitive group therapy as part of a multidisciplinary team.
• Conduct pre-sentence investigations and classifications/clinical assessments to identify participant needs.
• Develop and monitor individualized case plans to track goals; coordinate with treatment providers and community resources.
• Investigate violations, discuss sanctions, and prepare probationer progress reports for court submission.
• Conduct field and home visits for assessment and reassessment; monitor compliance and safety in the community.
• Assist in relapse prevention planning; facilitate groups including topical, cognitive, life skills, and education programs.
• Maintain and update records, enter data into appropriate systems, and generate reports as required.
• Engage in treatment processes through regular communication with treatment providers and attendance at treatment facilities.

In-office at 1700 Stone St Ste 206, Falls City, NE 68355. Travel within the district required to support operations; additional regional travel may be necessary.

Core hours are Monday–Friday daytime. In addition, occasional on-call, evening, weekend, and holiday availability may be required to support 24/7 community safety commitments.

• Starting salary: $60,313.77 annually (Hiring Rate).
• 2.5% pay increase after successful probation (subject to conditions).
• Annual cost-of-living adjustments may apply; eligibility varies by position and approval by the State Legislature.

Note: The following are the minimum qualifications; an equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.

• Education:
  
  Bachelor’s degree in social services, Criminal Justice, or related field.
• Experience:
  
  2 years of case management in related fields.
• Knowledge:
  Customer service principles, criminal justice system, laws and court procedures, assessment and intervention strategies, crisis intervention, recordkeeping, and related software.
• Skills:
  
  Home visits, interviewing probationers, tracking locations, applying laws/regulations, preparing activity reports, and effective written and verbal communication.

Light work; ability to travel and perform field duties. Environmental factors may include exposure to various conditions.
