Grain Elevator Technician

Job Requirements

• High School diploma or GED degree or related work experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Must have a valid driver’s license with CDL, or have the ability to obtain a CDL.
• Must have computer literacy.
• Experience with agriculture, farm equipment, and mechanical aptitude is strongly preferred.

• Assist in the unloading and loading of grain commodities by both truck and rail. This primarily consists of rail cars, semis and occasional straight trucks.
• Must be able to open and close occasionally hard‑to‑open hopper lids and/or gates on rail cars, trucks, or semi‑trailers using hand cranks and lift gates on occasional straight trucks.
• Transfer grain using a skid loader, pay loader or other similar equipment.
• Weigh or measure materials using scales or other measuring devices; sample, test, and maintain grain quality.
• Facility housekeeping.
• Perform both preventative maintenance and repairs on equipment and machinery.
• Observe conveyor operations and monitor lights, dials and gauges to maintain specific operating levels and to detect equipment malfunctions.
• Observe and listen to machinery operation to detect equipment malfunctions.
• Inform supervisors of equipment malfunctions that need to be addressed.
• Perform all job tasks in a safe manner and in compliance with approved procedures, specifically those related to grain elevator operations according to Country Partners Health & Safety Policies, as well as any relevant Federal and State regulations.
• Provide courteous and responsive customer service.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
