ResponsibilitiesPosition Summary:
This position reports directly to Rod Nixon. The driver operates manure tractor trucks, loads, hauls, and spreads manure in accordance with EPA guidelines, logs all loads, completes a "Manure Load" form for the accounting department, and assists other departments such as maintenance and house personnel. Daily equipment inspections are performed, and the driver assists with maintenance, cleaning, and repairs of manure handling equipment when not driving.
The driver is responsible for covering all outgoing loads to ensure waste product is not lost, maintaining trailer integrity, and preserving sanitary conditions. The driver must adhere to all safety policies and GMPs, report any conditions that may affect food safety or personnel safety, and perform other duties as assigned.
- Works on scheduled days as directed, in relation to production scheduling and or time volunteered for. This being in relation to attendance policy and or guidelines.
- Drives manure tractors, trucks, loads, hauls and spreads manure according to EPA guidelines by logging all loads.
- Completes a "Manure Load" form for accounting department to invoice customers.
- Assists the Manure Maintenance department with daily maintenance, cleaning and repairs of all manure handling equipment when not driving.
- Assists drivers and house people with maintenance issues as needed.
- Ensures that waste product is not lost during trip and that trailer is not leaking.
- Regularly cleans truck cabs and trailers.
- Reports damages or repairs to the truck mechanic and Maintenance Lead immediately.
- Performs daily equipment inspection before use each day.
- Adheres to safe work practices, GMPs, sanitary conditions, and reports any adverse conditions.
- Adheres to all safety policies and procedures.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Must apply via to verify driver and drug/alcohol history as part of the DOT program.
- Ability to communicate in English.
Education:
Less than high school education.
Language
Skills:
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos; write simple correspondence; and effectively present information in one‑on‑one and small group situations.
Mathematical
Skills:
Ability to add and subtract two‑digit numbers and to multiply and divide with tens and hundreds, using American money, weight, volume, and distance units.
Reasoning Ability:
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form; and deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
