Position OverviewThe CDL Driver/Operator will drive vacuum trucks, waterblast trucks, and other commercial vehicles to and from project sites throughout the company territories. The driver will also assist crews at the sites and ensure they are operating vehicles and tools safely.
Responsibilities and Duties- Drives and operates vacuum trucks, waterblast trucks, and other commercial vehicles to and from project sites.
- Obeys traffic laws and regulations
- Maintains accurate driving logs and hours in compliance with company policy and DOT guidelines
- Completes vehicle inspection reports to ensure vehicle and equipment are safe to operate before leaving sites and stays within DOT compliance
- Immediately reports all accidents, near misses, and injuries involving employees or others to the Safety Manager or Supervisors on site
- Maintains equipment and vehicles, helps in operation of equipment, and understands how to operate it safely
- Connects and disconnects hoses, dumps/unloads materials, cleans the truck tank after each use
- Actively champions a positive workplace and safety culture
- Performs various other duties and functions as required or assigned
- Must have a Class B commercial driver’s license
- Must be able to pass a motor vehicle report
- Basic verbal and written communication skills and must be able to read and write in English
- Basic interpersonal and customer service skills
- Basic organizational skills and attention to detail
- Working understanding of safety principles, practices, and procedures
- Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines
- Ability to function well in a high‑paced and at times stressful environment
- Follows directions of manager / lead / superintendent and clarifies responsibilities if needed
- Respects self, co‑workers, managers, company, other contractors, and clients
- Adaptable in methods used to complete tasks

- Motivated to learn new skills
- Shows up on time, ready to complete work
- Ability to work independently
- Ability to lift, push, pull, and move up to 50 lbs. on a routine basis
- Ability to climb ladders and stairways regularly throughout the work shift
- Ability to observe conditions and others as a safety attendant, staying alert while seated for long periods of time as needed
- Ability to use hand tools, power tools, and other tools and equipment safely and in a controlled manner
- Ability to perform inspections of site, tools, and equipment
- Ability to perform behavioral observations focused on safety and process improvement
- Ability to follow safety protocol and report any incident, unsafe act, or unsafe condition immediately to the site supervisor and safety manager
- Must provide proof of successful completion of OSHA 10‑hour training within 60 days of starting at hth companies
