Supervisor DC OPS

Overview

Safety-Kleen in Kimball, NE is seeking a Warehouse Supervisor to join their safety conscious team. The supervisor is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the unit, in terms of optimizing, troubleshooting and performing corrective actions with the goal of maintaining optimum production.

• Ensures Health and Safety is the number one priority by complying with all safe work practices, policies, and acting in a safe manner always.
• Manage and maintain safe work practices (SOPs, JHAs and best industry standards).
• Safely verify and inventory all inbound items.
• Manage and implement housekeeping processes.
• Initiate all inventory counts: year-end full physical count and cycle counts (weekly) and troubleshoot any inventory discrepancies.
• Develop and cross-train staff.
• Organize daily toolbox meetings.
• Run weekly safety meetings.
• Must have forklift experience – the supervisor will regularly operate the forklift.
• Must have extensive warehouse operations experience.
• Sound understanding of inventory terminology (SKUs, Cycle Count, UOM, Pallet Tag, BOL, Pick Ticket).
• Maintain housekeeping and proper inventory control practices (FIFO).
• Explain, teach and train in a professional and patient manner.

• High school diploma or GED.
• Ability to work independently while managing time and productivity.
• Ability to perform physical functions per job requirements.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Problem solving skills.
• Strong sense of urgency.
• Sound understanding of P&L, expenses and revenue sources.
• Ability to work with BOLs, Pick Tickets and Pallet Tags.
• Ability to generate BOLs, Pick Tickets and Pallet Tags.
• Must be able to verify all outbound loads per DOT regulations.
• Previous management experience, preferably in a warehouse or distribution environment.
• Forklift experience.
• Experience in a warehouse environment (MUST).
• Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) preferred.
