As we are rapidly scaling up activities within The Netherlands, you play a key role in driving the Energy project pipe-line, translating client’s ambitions to and executing concrete studies and projects as well as help the further develop-ment of the Process & Technology department. You are working very closely with a team of colleagues across NIRAS´ many Engineering and Consultancy disciplines, but also Market and Expertise Directors.

More specifically, you:

• take lead on Process Design activities within Energy projects
• perform Process studies and simulations of systems and configurations of various complexity
• solve complex and challenging technical issues for clients
• develop Engineering Design packages for projects within key segments, including but not limited to heat recovery and application of heat pumps
• contribute to further development of the Process & technology department
• share knowledge and skills in order to further develop your colleagues' abilities and skills
• collaborate with industry experts across NIRAS to deliver best in class projects for our customers
• represent NIRAS at customer meetings and external events
• liaise with a broad range of external parties and partners, including equipment and technology suppliers on the technical specifications and innovations

For this position, you should ideally have around 10+ years experience working with Process Design and/or Consultancy within the field of Energy efficient Process technologies and sustainable plant utilities in the Food & Beverage industry.

Furthermore, you:

• have a background as a Chemical Engineer, Food or Energy Technologist or equivalent with in depth knowledge on the key production pathways within Food & Beverage industry, preferably in Dairy or Ingredients
• have extensive, practical experience within sustainable Process or Utility Design of Food & Beverage plants or similar
• preferably have experience with electrification of industrial plants
• are determined and have a strong customer understanding and a consultative mindset
• pose a ‘go-do’ attitude and spirit and thrive working in cross-functional teams and projects
• are motivated venturing into new technology areas
• are fluent in English both verbally and in writing; being able to do the same in Dutch has a strong preference
