For our Procurement department, we are looking for a
Technical (tactical) PurchaserAs a Technical Purchaser you are part of our Procurement department, where operational, tactical, and strategic procurement takes place. You work independently within the procurement team, but you are also a team player and maintain close contact with suppliers, engineering, project teams, product management, and other entities within the Mpac Group.
In this tactical role, we are looking for a technically skilled and tactically strong purchaser who can operate both operationally and project-wise. Your analytical insight enables you to understand quotes, contracts, and data, so you can optimize and manage costs, quality, and risks. You are results-oriented, persuasive in negotiations, and able to identify and control risks. In addition, you coordinate product introductions, phase-outs, and bottleneck management, and contribute to process improvements and innovation.
You always act ethically, reliably, and flexibly under changing circumstances.
Your responsibilities
- Selecting, evaluating, developing and maintaining new and existing suppliers.
- Assessing quotes and contracts in terms of cost, quality, risk, and lead times.
- Conducting negotiations and recording agreements, contracts, and SLAs in relevant systems.
- Identifying and realizing cost savings and process improvements.
- Monitoring supplier performance, vendor ratings and contract compliance.
- Managing purchasing and logistics data in the ERP system.
- Collaborating with internal stakeholders such as product development, sales, project teams, IT, Facilities, and other purchasing departments within Mpac Group.
- Participating in multidisciplinary project and product development teams.
- Supporting product phase-outs, product introductions and reducing bottleneck items.
- Organizing technical innovation sessions with suppliers.
- Supporting the sustainability program within procurement.
- Contributing to achieving KPI’s.
What we expect from you
- A completed technical or commercially-technical Bachelor’s degree, e.g. in electrical engineering, industrial automation, mechanical engineering or a comparable field.
- At least 5 years of experience in a similar purchasing role, preferably within a project organization or industrial automation.
- Sufficient technical insight to understand products, processes and project requirements.
- Knowledge of ERP systems, preferably INFOR (BAAN / Infor Visual).
- Good knowledge of Dutch and English.
- Experience with MS Office, especially strong Excel skills.
- NEVI 1 certification or willingness to obtain it.
