Sr. Accountant

We are looking for an experienced Sr. Accountant to support core accounting operations and help maintain accurate financial records in Needham, Massachusetts. This role will play a key part in period-end activities, balance sheet integrity, and day-to-day ledger management while partnering with internal stakeholders to ensure timely and reliable reporting. The ideal candidate brings strong technical accounting knowledge, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment.

Responsibilities:

• Lead monthly close activities by preparing and reviewing entries, coordinating deadlines, and ensuring financial data is recorded accurately.
• Maintain the general ledger by analyzing account activity, resolving discrepancies, and supporting consistent accounting practices.
• Prepare journal entries with appropriate support and verify that transactions are posted in line with company policies and reporting requirements.
• Perform account reconciliations on a regular basis, investigate variances, and follow through on corrective actions as needed.
• Complete bank reconciliations by matching cash activity, identifying outstanding items, and escalating unusual transactions for review.
• Assist with financial reporting by organizing schedules, supporting documentation, and other accounting records needed for internal review.
• Partner with cross-functional teams to gather transaction details, clarify accounting treatment, and improve the accuracy of financial information.
