Location: Needham, MA (Hybrid)

What You'll Do

Own the Close — End to End
  • Lead the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close for the Americas region with a relentless focus on accuracy, timeliness, and US GAAP compliance.
  • Prepare and review financial analyses and management reporting packages to provide senior leadership with clear, actionable visibility.
  • Partner with FP&A on budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis, ensuring the accounting perspective informs decisions early and often.
  • Drive timely reconciliations and ensure aged items are resolved, not recycled.
Build Controls That Actually Work
  • Own and continuously strengthen the internal control environment for the Americas region, fully aligning to SOX requirements.
  • Serve as the primary partner for internal and external auditors, managing deliverables and keeping audit cycles moving efficiently.
  • Stay ahead of US GAAP changes that impact the region and implement them with precision.
  • Play a meaningful role in Shark Ninja’s controls transformation, helping to mature and institutionalize the function for long‑term impact.
Break What's Broken. Build What's Better.
  • Audit existing accounting processes and relentlessly pursue simplification, automation, globalization, and scaling opportunities.
  • Lead workflow modernization initiatives that reduce manual effort, compress the close cycle, and future‑proof the function.
  • Leverage Oracle ERP, AI, and reporting tools to enhance data quality, visibility, and efficiency across the function.
  • Support system implementations and enhancements as our technology infrastructure evolves.
Take Ownership Across the Board
  • Own accounting processes and technical guidance across multiple functional areas, and be willing to engage with new or ambiguous territory as the business grows.
  • Step up when it matters, demonstrating flexibility, range, and a genuine willingness to exceed defined scope.
Develop People Who Want To Win
  • Lead, coach, and invest in a team of accounting professionals, building long‑term capability rather than short‑term capacity.
  • Create a culture of accountability, intellectual curiosity, and continuous improvement, empowering people to identify problems and own solutions.
  • Set clear expectations, deliver honest feedback, and champion career growth for every team member.
  • Model the "One Finance Team" mindset in everything you do, providing cross‑functional leadership coverage and supporting the broader organization.
Qualifications

What You Bring

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • 8–12 years of progressive accounting experience, including at least 3 years in a leadership or management role.
  • Demonstrated range across multiple functional accounting areas, with the ability to flex into new ones as the business demands.
  • Strong command of US GAAP and SOX compliance requirements.
  • Experience managing or supporting external audits.
  • A proven track record of building and developing high‑performing teams.
  • A process improvement mindset—actively dismantling status‑quo practices when better approaches exist.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills, with comfort presenting to senior stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications
  • CPA license.
  • Experience in a multinational consumer products or manufacturing company.
  • Proficiency with Oracle ERP systems.
  • Experience building or scaling accounting functions in a high‑growth or transformational environment.
