The Special Education Instructional Assistant works in inclusive settings and in special education classrooms to support students with disabilities. IAs are trained and supported by the Special Education Liaison, BCBA, Special Education Director, and the classroom teacher. The special education department takes a team approach in supporting the needs of the students.
Job Summary:
Provide academic, behavioral, and/or emotional support for students during the day, in the general education setting and/or the special education setting.
Job Requirements:
This job requires patience, experience working on a team, and a willingness to work with students with disabilities. Good communication skills and the ability to be flexible and to receive and implement instructions and behavior plans are required.
