Job Responsibilities
  • Develops and administers middle school math curriculum consistent with state standards, school district goals, and objectives.
  • Demonstrates an in-depth knowledge of math content, methods, and principles of effective middle school instruction.
  • Promotes a classroom environment that is safe and conducive to individualized and small‑group instruction and student learning.
  • Plans and executes appropriate instructional and learning strategies, reflecting a deep understanding of students’ academic and social/emotional needs.
  • Conducts ongoing assessments of student learning and modifies instructional methods to fit individual students’ needs, including students with special needs.
  • Continues to acquire professional knowledge on current developments in the educational field by attending seminars, workshops, professional meetings, or conducting research.
  • Encourages parental involvement in students’ education and ensures effective two‑way communication with students and parents.
  • Creates and maintains a safe and inclusive learning environment for all students in the classroom, setting clear and appropriate expectations for success.
  • Coordinates with other department members, cluster mates, and educators to evaluate and assess curriculum and participates in all school‑wide initiatives and committees.
  • Performs other related tasks as assigned by the Principal or their designee.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Valid Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education Mathematics license at the appropriate level
  • Hold an SEI endorsement, dual certification in ESL, or qualify for such certification
    • This includes all core Academic Teachers (early childhood, elementary, teachers of students with moderate and severe disabilities, English, reading, language arts, mathematics, science, civics and government, economics, history, and geography)
Application & Selection Procedure
  • Resumes will be screened and selected candidates will participate in a thorough interview process; semi‑final and final candidates will be asked to complete a demonstration lesson.
  • All members of the hiring team are required to attend anti‑bias/anti‑racist training.
Compensation & Benefits

Salary is determined by education and experience, ranging from Bachelor’s (Step
1) $63,217 to Doctorate (Step 14) $133,922 (based on a 1.0 FTE).
