Qualifications: A minimum of a Bachelor's degree is required; a Master's degree is preferred. The candidate should possess good communication and interpersonal skills. The candidate should have experience working with and/or teaching elementary-aged students; an understanding of the needs of students at this age; a collaborative work ethic; training/experience in reading and writing instruction; experience in mathematics instruction; interest in science content and pedagogy;

a commitment to inclusive pedagogy; and the potential to contribute to student life beyond the classroom. The candidate should be comfortable with both in-person and online pedagogy and teaching platforms.

License: Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary license as an Elementary Educator (K-6) is preferred.

Essential Performance Responsibilities:

• develop standards-based curriculum for grades K, 1 and 2 that align with ELA/Math/Sci standards and learning materials that are culturally responsive and developmentally appropriate.
• Identify curriculum materials for the program, coordinate development of materials kits and delivery to program sites.
• develops and administers school elementary curriculum consistent with school district goals and objectives.
• develops lesson plans and instructional materials and translates lesson plans into learning experiences so as to best utilize the available time for instruction.
• outline a process for introducing students in grades K-2 to a classroom and school community (introducing students to the daily schedule and routines and activities such as morning circle, month/day/year, transitioning from one activity to the next, sitting at a desk and following instruction, walking in a single line through the hallway, eating in the cafeteria, whole body listening, talking one at a time in class).

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Knowledge of current teaching methods and educational pedagogy, as well as differentiates instruction based upon student learning styles.
• Knowledge of culturally responsive practices.
• Knowledge of elementary school curriculum and concepts. Knowledge of data information systems, data analysis, and the formulation of action plans.
