Position Summary

The Associate Vice Provost for Campus Life and Student Success is a senior academic and student affairs leader responsible for advancing a holistic, integrated vision of student learning, development, belonging, well‑being, and success at Olin College of Engineering. Reporting to the Provost and serving as a member of the Provost's leadership team, the Associate Vice Provost provides strategic leadership for student success initiatives, campus life, student engagement, well‑being, and co‑curricular learning experiences that complement and enhance Olin's innovative academic mission.

The Associate Vice Provost leads Student Affairs and Resources (StAR) and serves as the institution's senior student success leader, championing an integrated approach to student development that bridges curricular and co‑curricular experiences. Through collaboration with faculty, staff, students, and institutional partners, the Associate Vice Provost advances strategies that promote student belonging, persistence, academic achievement, leadership development, and post‑graduate success.

As a highly visible and student‑centered leader with a strong on‑campus presence, the Associate Vice Provost fosters a campus environment where all students can thrive academically, socially, emotionally, and professionally. The role is responsible for developing and implementing a comprehensive vision for student success that spans the student lifecycle, from enrollment and onboarding through graduation and career preparation, while ensuring alignment with Olin's mission, values, and strategic priorities.

The Associate Vice Provost oversees a broad portfolio that includes academic advising and support, student engagement and leadership development, residence life, student well‑being, accessibility services, inclusion and belonging initiatives, career services, international programs, student conduct, crisis response, and institutional partnerships supporting student life. The position serves as a principal advisor to the Provost and institutional leadership on matters affecting the student experience, campus climate, student health and safety, and emerging trends in higher education.

The Associate Vice Provost works closely with the Chief Enrollment and Student Engagement Officer (CESEO) to implement institutional priorities, align student success initiatives across the College, and advance a cohesive vision for the student experience.

Responsibilities Strategic Leadership for Student Success and Campus Life
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive institutional vision for student success, engagement, belonging, and well‑being that advances Olin's strategic goals.
  • Serve as the senior leader responsible for integrating student success efforts across academic and administrative units.
  • Advise the Provost and collaborate with institutional leadership on student needs, campus climate, emerging challenges, and opportunities related to the student experience.
  • Promote a culture of innovation, assessment, and continuous improvement across student‑facing functions.
  • Champion student agency, voice, and co‑creation as core elements of the Olin educational experience.
Student Success and Academic Support
  • Lead institution‑wide efforts to enhance student retention, persistence, graduation outcomes, and holistic success.
  • Oversee academic advising, tutoring, coaching, and student support services.
  • Partner with faculty and academic leaders to identify and address barriers to student achievement.
  • Utilize data and assessment practices to inform interventions, resource allocation, and student success strategies.
  • Monitor student progress and coordinate support for students experiencing academic challenges.
Integration of Curricular and Co‑Curricular Learning
