This role: Product Test Engineering Co-op on the Ninja team, contributing to reliable, high-performing products from counter top appliances to next-gen home innovations. You’ll design and build custom electro-mechanical test rigs, execute rigorous performance evaluations, and uncover insights to shape design, iteration, and launches. You’ll engage in lifecycle simulations and failure mode analysis to help make Ninja products tougher, smarter, and better for users.
Responsibilities- Design and build custom electro-mechanical test rigs that simulate real-life usage and push products to the limit
- Develop creative, science-backed test methods to evaluate performance, reliability, and user experience
- Analyze large sets of test data using statistical tools to uncover insights and drive engineering decisions
- Document findings clearly to influence next-gen product improvements
- Disassemble Ninja and competitor products to understand how they work and how they can be improved
- Collaborate with engineers across product development, quality, and testing to turn data into action
- Gain hands-on exposure to high-impact testing that affects products on shelves and in homes
- Explore failure modes and troubleshoot issues to elevate overall product quality
- Contribute to continuous improvement of test lab processes and capabilities
- Build a portfolio of real-world test systems, reports, and cross-functional contributions that bring tangible value
- Education:
Must be currently enrolled in a bachelor’s, master’s, or doctoral program, or have graduated within the past year - Must be able to work a full-time, 40-hour-per-week schedule onsite in Needham, MA
- Must be able to utilize microcontrollers (e.g., Arduino or Raspberry Pi) to construct test setups
- Preferred experience with Solid Works
- Demonstrate a builder’s mindset with curiosity, creativity, and hands-on approach
- Develop and debug code in C++, Python, or similar languages to support automation and data-driven testing
- Adapt quickly to new lab tools, testing equipment, and technical systems with a solutions-oriented approach
- Communicate effectively in written reports, verbal updates, and cross-functional collaboration
- Maintain strong attention to detail and recognize how small observations impact product quality
- Contribute data-backed insights and constructive feedback in team discussions
- Perform confidently in a fast-paced, experimental environment and view challenges as learning opportunities
- Apply analytical and creative thinking to design robust, repeatable test methods
