R&D Test Engineer

Requirements

• We require a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Materials Science, or a closely related discipline.
• We look for 3 years of testing or validation experience in R&D or product development; experience with consumer goods is a strong advantage.
• We need hands-on proficiency with thermal, electrical, and mechanical test equipment, with comfort working directly in a lab environment.
• We value strong data analysis skills, with MATLAB or LabVIEW experience preferred.
• We want someone with a sharp eye for failure modes and design weaknesses, and the drive to investigate them thoroughly.
• Nice-to-have experience includes environmental chambers, vibration testers, or electrical test equipment.
• Familiarity with UL, CE, or ISO standards is a plus.
• Six Sigma or ASQ certification is beneficial.

Responsibilities:

• We design and build fixtures and lab equipment, creating the tools needed for testing when they do not already exist.
• We develop, document, and execute test procedures so results are clear, reliable, and actionable.
• We perform failure analysis with R&D and product engineers to identify root causes and support corrective actions.
• We manage lab operations, including calibration, supplies, and continuous process improvements.
• We train teammates on Floorcare Lab procedures and quality standards to help raise team-wide performance.
• We work directly on consumer hardware with autonomy to shape our own test approach and make engineering decisions that determine product readiness.
