Job Description

Needham Public Schools is an inclusive, dynamic, and multicultural community seeking an energetic and skilled Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to join our team. The COTA provides Occupational Therapy services to students with a range of fine motor and sensory needs both in and out of the classroom under the guidance of a district Occupational Therapist and building‑based Special Education Coordinators.

Additional responsibilities include:

  • Providing direct 1:1, small group, and in‑class occupational therapy for students
Qualifications
  • Associate’s degree or higher in Occupational Therapy
  • Massachusetts Licensure as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA)
Job Environment

The work environment is typically a school/classroom setting, occasionally on field trips away from school. Noise level is usually moderate.

Physical Requirements

Employees regularly sit, stand, walk, kneel, talk, hear, operate a computer and other office equipment, reach and lift up to 10 pounds, and occasionally assist students with standing and sitting tasks.

Compensation and Benefits

Hourly Rate: $28.95–$33.77 (SY26 Rate). Learn more about other compensation and benefits under the Unit C Contract (Grade: ASC).
