Senior Sonographer | Boston Childrens Hospital
Position Summary:
This position involves performing routine and complex ultrasound examinations, assessing patient needs, ensuring quality imaging, and maintaining equipment while supporting patients, families, and team communication. The role also includes training others, assisting with workflow and scheduling, participating in professional development and research, and upholding hospital standards and core values.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform routine and complex ultrasound examinations and ensure procedures are appropriate based on clinical indications.
- Assess and respond to patients' physical and emotional needs, creating a supportive environment for patients and families.
- Ensure proper equipment use and function, selecting appropriate settings and reporting malfunctions.
- Support efficient department operations, including scheduling, workflow coordination, and quality assurance tasks.
- Provide training and guidance to trainees and fellows, acting as a knowledgeable resource for ultrasound procedures.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Education:
Associates degree;
Diagnostic Medical Sonography - Experience:
3 years of experience as an Sonographer - License/Certification:
Registered by the ARDMS. Pediatric certification preferred - Must meet, successfully complete, and maintain the ARDMS certification and registration.
- BLS certification.
