Primary Therapist | Needham, MA About Greater Boston Addiction Center
Greater Boston Addiction Center, located in Needham, Massachusetts, provides clinical treatment services for individuals in recovery.
The OpportunityGreater Boston Addiction Center is seeking a Primary Therapist to join its Clinical team. This is a full-time role with a days schedule, supporting individual and group therapy across outpatient, PHP, and IOP levels of care. The role includes one remote workday per week, and this position is well-suited to master's-level clinicians who are license-eligible and working toward independent licensure, with clinical supervision available.
WhatYou'll Do
- Provide individual and group therapy in an outpatient, PHP, or IOP setting
- Complete thorough clinical assessments and develop individualized treatment plans
- Facilitate structured and engaging group therapy sessions across levels of care
- Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation within the electronic health record (EHR) system
- Ensure compliance with confidentiality regulations and HIPAA standards
- Manage crisis situations and de-escalation to ensure patient safety
- Collaborate within a multidisciplinary care team, including coordination with families and external providers
- Support relapse prevention strategies and recovery-oriented care planning
- Manage an assigned caseload with strong organization and follow-through
- Master's degree in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, or a related field required
- Licensure not required; candidates who are license-eligible (LADC, LMHC, LCSW, or LICSW track) are encouraged to apply
- Knowledge of evidence-based treatment approaches, including CBT, DBT, and Motivational Interviewing
- Strong clinical assessment and diagnostic skills, including experience with co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders
- Understanding of regulatory and compliance standards (DPH, BSAS, Joint Commission preferred)
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and rapport-building skills with diverse patient populations
- Strong organizational and time management skills to manage multiple cases
Cultural competency and ability to work with individuals from varied backgrounds - Flexibility and a team-oriented mindset in a fast-paced clinical environment
- EMDR certification preferred

Salary: $65,000 - $70,000 annually
