Position Summary

For over 40 years, North Hill, a not-for-profit senior living community located in Needham, Massachusetts, has provided vibrant living opportunities to people 65+ by offering a host of hospitality, wellness and health care services . The Activities Coordinator is responsible for planning, developing, organizing, implementing and evaluating programs for Residents.

Specific Duties

  • Plans, designs, implements and evaluates programs to enhance the Resident experience across campus
  • Provides meaningful individual and group engagements within the small house model
  • Creates weekly Residents notes regarding participation, behavior, programming recommendations and highlights per household
  • Collaborates with the interdisciplinary team daily to ensure Residents needs are metli>
  • Completes written or electronic documentation in a timely mannerli>
  • Participates in household meal services, including preparation, cooking and serving mealsli>
  • Monitors changes in the Resident’s needs, abilities, and preferences to provide programs and activities appropriate for individual and group audiencesli>
  • Assists with facilitating volunteer opportunities for Team Members and Residentsli>
  • Works closely with family members and outside organizations or individuals to provide care to Residents (i.e., private companion, hospice team, etc.)li>
  • Coordinates supplies and space as needed for planned eventsli>
  • Assists in developing, producing, and distributing the weekly and daily program calendarli>
  • Performs administrative requirements, such as ordering supplies, proofing publications, and completing necessary forms as neededli>
  • Supports, encourages and directs independent activity pursuits, both individually and in small groupsli>
  • Engages Residents in one-on-one interactionsli>
  • Facilitates group activities according to the programming scheduleli>
  • Facilitates virtual visits for Residentsli>
  • Provides caring, thoughtful and engaging service at all timesli>
  • Communicates any challenges, complaints or service difficulties to immediate supervisorli>
  • Meets department uniform, appearance, and grooming requirementsli>
  • Complies with all OSHA safety regulations, applicable local laws regarding health, safety, or environmentli>
Required

Skills and Abilities
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and strong customer support skills
  • Complies with protection of health information (HIPAA) safeguards
  • Ability to work independently with limited supervision
  • Must possess the ability to deal tactfully with Team Members, Residents, family members, visitors, and the general public
  • Work professionally with people from a wide variety of cultural and socio-economic backgrounds
  • When working in Resident areas, must be able to communicate effectively in English
  • Attends and participates in in-service educational classes, Healthcare Academy and staff meetings as directed
  • Ability to use technology such as Face Time, Zoom, Rendever, Eversound, Skype, and audio systems
Education and Experience
  • A High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Comfortable with computer software programs
  • Maintains First Aid, CPR, and other certifications and trainings
  • Experience and/or formal training in planning, developing, and facilitating recreational or engagement programs for the senior population is preferred

Satisfactory completion of a background investigation is required for this position.

Pay Range: $22-$25/hour

Individual compensation within this range is based on a candidate’s specific qualifications, including education, overall experience, relevant experience, and specific skills. We strive to ensure that compensation is competitive, fair, and reflects the value each candidate brings to the role.
