The RoleLead UX Designer to take creative and technical ownership of key app experiences within our UX team. In this role, you will serve as a design lead on high-visibility projects, setting the design direction while actively contributing hands-on work. You will mentor junior and mid-level designers, establish design standards, and collaborate closely with Product, Engineering, and Industrial Design teams to ensure our connected app experiences are intuitive, delightful, and deeply integrated with our physical Shark and Ninja products.
Key Responsibilities- Lead end-to-end UX design for key app experiences across the Shark and Ninja connected product portfolio, from concept ideation through final implementation on iOS and Android.
- Set design direction and quality standards on projects, providing hands-on design contributions as well as clear guidance and feedback to other designers.
- Mentor and support junior and mid-level UX designers, helping to develop their skills and elevating overall team output.
- Translate consumer insights, user research, and competitive analysis into user-centered design strategies and solutions.
- Drive the evolution of the Shark Ninja UX design system, contributing new components, patterns, and documentation that promote consistency and scalability.
- Build high-fidelity interactive prototypes to communicate design intent, test concepts with users, and align stakeholders.
- Collaborate with SW and Product teams to ensure designs are technically feasible and that implementation maintains visual and functional integrity.
- Facilitate design reviews, workshops, and critiques, building a culture of open feedback and creative excellence.
- Champion the use of AI tools and emerging design technologies within the team s workflow.
- 6-9 years of UX design experience with a demonstrated track record of leading complex design projects from concept to launch.
- Strong expertise in UX and UI design for mobile experiences on iOS and Android; experience with connected hardware products is a strong plus.
- An exceptional portfolio showcasing both hands-on design craft and evidence of design leadership and mentorship.
- Proficiency in Figma and Adobe Creative Suite; experience using AI tools in the design process is a strong plus.
- Ability to give clear, actionable design direction and constructive feedback to peers and junior designers.
- Strong analytical and systems thinking skills, with the ability to balance user needs, technical constraints, and business goals.
- Excellent communication and storytelling skills, with the ability to present and defend design decisions to cross-functional teams and senior stakeholders.
- Thrives in a fast-paced environment at the intersection of software and hardware product development.
- Bachelor s degree in UI/UX Design, Industrial Design, Interaction Design, or a related discipline.
