* The Facilities team will focus on providing support to the business in managing high spec locations undertaking scientific research activities in a large laboratory setting. Working with the Site Lead and a variety of teams across the business, this is a high-profile role with a significant contribution to make to the growth of our business.
** Key Responsibilities
**** Facilities Leadership
*** Own end-to-end Facilities operations for Perceptive’s site, including laboratory, vivarium, and office spaces, ensuring safe, compliant, and efficient operations.
* Act as a hands-on manager, balancing strategic oversight with direct involvement in day-to-day operations, issue resolution, and continuous improvement initiatives.
* Serve as the primary liaison to senior leadership and key stakeholders, providing updates, recommendations, and driving alignment across functions.
** Operations, Maintenance & Systems Management
*** Oversee daily facilities operations, including maintenance, space moves, and service requests, ensuring minimal disruption to scientific and business activities.
* Manage critical infrastructure and systems (e.g., HVAC, vivarium environments, cold storage, incubators, lab wastewater system), including environmental monitoring and after-hours coverage.
* Utilize and oversee Building Management Systems (BMS) to monitor, control, and optimize facility performance, ensuring reliability of mission-critical systems.
* Lead preventative maintenance programs and maintain a comprehensive annual Facilities calendar to ensure proactive servicing and operational continuity.
** Vendor, Asset & Financial Management
*** Manage vendor relationships and building management interfaces, ensuring high-quality service delivery and performance accountability.
* Oversee asset lifecycle management for facility infrastructure and equipment, including capital planning, repairs, and replacements.
* Lead facilities procurement, inventory management, and budgeting, including development of operating and capital expense plans.
** Projects, Space Planning & Continuous Improvement
*** Lead facility projects including lab and vivarium buildouts, renovations, expansions, and space optimization initiatives.
* Oversee space planning and allocation across lab, vivarium, and office environments to support growth and operational efficiency.
* Develop project scopes, budgets, and timelines; present proposals to leadership and coordinate cross-functional project teams through execution.
* Drive clear communication of facility changes (e.g., renovations, moves, system impacts) to minimize disruption and support business continuity

** Functional Competencies (Technical knowledge/Skills)*
* · Experience managing preclinical research laboratory and vivarium space
· Experience managing a small team
· Strong written and verbal communication skills
· Sound Understanding of and knowledge of facilities maintenance and legislation in Massachusetts
· Excellent negotiating and drafting skills
· Strong project management skills
· Strong technical engineering skills and experience
· Strong organizational skills, a high level of accuracy and attention to detail
** Experience, Education, and Certifications
*** Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent experience) in Facilities Management, Engineering, or a related technical field.
* 7–10 years of progressive experience in Facilities Management, preferably within a laboratory or regulated environment.
* Hands-on experience with Building Management Systems (BMS) for monitoring and control of critical infrastructure.
