The President will ensure that BID Needham functions at the highest levels including delivering safe, high-quality coordinated care, efficient management of resources, smooth and efficient administrative services, and implementation of strategic and operational plans. The President will be responsible for the executive leadership, strategic growth, and fiscal health of BID Needham. They will recognize the inclusive and collaborative culture of the hospital that has made it a success in the community and among its patients and use that as a steppingstone to further integrate into the Beth Israel Lahey Health (BILH) system.

The President will work collaboratively with system-wide leadership and other BILH hospital and business unit presidents to advance goals to strengthen its mission of becoming a fully integrated system of patient care, education, research, and community service. This individual will identify new strategic partnerships that extend into the community, ensuring a robust health system distinguished by offering outstanding patient care programs and strong financial performance.

The President will be a strong operational leader with sound fiscal management experience who will continue BID Needham’s culture of quality and patient satisfaction. The President will be a visible and enthusiastic leader within the organization and community and a vital partner in increasing philanthropic support for the Hospital.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

including but not limited to:

  • Champion BID Needham’s values and Service Excellence standards, ensuring every interaction with patients, families, clinicians, staff, and community partners reflects the highest level of compassion, professionalism, and respect.

  • Provide visionary executive leadership in shaping, executing, and continuously refining BID Needham’s strategic plan and operational priorities, ensuring exceptional and consistent quality across all clinical services.

  • Cultivate a culture defined by trust, collaboration, accountability, transparency, innovation, and organizational excellence.

  • Advance BID Needham as an high‑reliability organization, driving operational excellence across all care settings, with particular focus on the operating room, emergency department, imaging, and ambulatory services.

  • Deliver superior financial performance through disciplined financial planning, operational improvement, philanthropic growth, and strong relationships with legislators, payors, and external partners.

  • Inspire a collaborative, community‑centered care model that reflects the needs and voices of patients, families, employees, physicians, volunteers, and board members.

  • Lead a robust philanthropic strategy that fuels institutional growth, innovation, and long‑term sustainability.

  • Build a resilient, agile, and transparent organization capable of adapting to the rapidly evolving healthcare landscape.

  • Establish and champion a mentorship and succession‑planning framework for physician leaders and medical staff, strengthening a collegial environment and expanding leadership capacity across the enterprise.

  • Engage system and local leaders to drive a cohesive clinical integration strategy, ensuring superior outcomes and cost‑effective care for every patient.

  • Provide system‑wide leadership in advancing an integrated delivery network that enhances coordination, quality, and access.

  • Build and sustain strategic relationships with community leaders, system executives, state officials, and key stakeholders.

  • Serve as a compelling and influential external representative of BID Needham at the state, regional, and national levels.

  • Strengthen BID Needham’s platform for continuous improvement in quality, safety, patient experience, and engagement, leveraging technology and innovation to elevate care.
