Responsibilities- Support the Shark business on‑site at our Needham, MA headquarters with the development of successful and profitable programs for key products, ensuring continued growth of the product portfolio. Assist in leading new product development (creation and management) of assigned product(s) from brainstorm phase through mass production, and partner with leadership to define category direction.
- Define, develop, and iterate product specifications, marrying consumer wants/needs, market white space, and product technologies as the primary consumer advocate.
- Take ownership of your assigned categories’ sales performance, partnering with others in the company to identify what products are working or not working and recommend new product opportunities to fill gaps.
- Lead competitive product analyses, giving business partners insight into how Shark stacks up against the competition and maintaining a clear lens on continuous improvement.
- Voice insights and learnings from consumers and the market to Product Developers focused on new product development, ensuring critical features and feedback are incorporated into next‑generation products.
- Partner with Testing and Quality organizations to define, develop, and manage quality and performance testing procedures.
- Act as the product “expert” for cross‑functional team member questions and concerns.
- 2–3+ years of experience in product development, product marketing, marketing, human factors engineering, or a related field – preferable at a consumer goods company.
- Bachelor’s Degree (or equivalent experience) in Business, Marketing, Management, Engineering, or a combination of the above.
- A “100% on” consumer‑first perspective when introducing new products/processes or improving current products.
- A mindset geared toward building relationships across multi‑functional teams, coupled with excellent interpersonal skills.
- Strong communication skills – both written (presentation/email) and face‑to‑face (concise conversations that solve problems and effective presentations to all levels of management).
- Strong project management skills, with the ability to prioritize effectively, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and stay organized in a fast‑paced environment.
- A desire to learn and grow in a passionate environment.
- The ability to embrace transparency and shifting priorities while learning from each decision and focusing on the path forward.
The annual salary range for this position is $56,300—$101,700 USD, influenced by geography, skills, education, experience, and other qualifications.
