Overview
The Clinical Manager provides leadership, oversight, and clinical guidance to Clinical Supervisors and nursing staff to ensure high-quality, compliant, and patient-centered care. This role supports, educates, and evaluates clinical teams while collaborating with operational partners to ensure appropriate staffing, effective care delivery, and positive patient outcomes. The Clinical Manager plays a key role in driving clinical excellence, staff engagement, and regulatory compliance, and serves as the clinical lead in the absence of the Clinical Director.
The position is added based on location size and patient volume and requires approval from regional leadership.
- Provide direct supervision, coaching, and support to Clinical Supervisors and clinical staff
- Assign patients to Clinical Supervisors to ensure efficient care delivery and appropriate workload distribution
- Support patient care coordination from admission through discharge, including assessments and goal-directed care plans
- Educate staff on professional standards, state regulations, accreditation requirements (CHAP), and company policies
- Monitor staffing levels and collaborate with operations to ensure adequate coverage
- Conduct on-site supervisory visits and complete required documentation
- Review referrals and provide admission recommendations as directed
- Analyze clinical data to identify opportunities to improve outcomes and reduce risk
- Communicate clinical updates to external case managers and obtain care authorizations
- Promote patient, family, and internal customer satisfaction
- Participate in hiring, training, evaluation, and retention initiatives
- Serve in an on-call rotation and respond to after-hours needs as required
- Act as the clinical lead in the absence of the Clinical Director
Required
- Diploma, Associate, or Bachelor’s degree in Nursing from an accredited RN program
- Active RN license in applicable state(s)
- Relevant clinical experience in accordance with state and federal regulations
- Valid driver’s license and acceptable motor vehicle record
- Two (2) years of experience as a Clinical Supervisor
- Experience administering or supporting a private duty or home care program
- Strong clinical leadership and supervisory skills
- Commitment to quality, safety, and regulatory compliance
- Excellent organization, communication, and time management abilities
- Sound clinical judgment and decision-making skills
- Ability to remain calm and professional in high-pressure situations
- Strong attention to detail and ethical practice standards
Physical Requirements
- Ability to travel between patient homes and work environments
- Capacity to lift up to 40 pounds and assist with patient mobility as needed
- Ability to sit, stand, walk, bend, kneel, and climb stairs
- Exposure to varying environments, including potential allergens and infectious diseases
