Chestnut Street Animal Hospital in Needham, MA

$26.00 an hour (flexibility based on experience)

The ideal schedule will be 34 hours on Tues‑Fri, no weekends!

• Assist the veterinarians with appointments and treatment orders.
• Take patient histories from clients for appointments.
• Perform technician appointments and various housekeeping duties (laundry, dishes, garbage removal).
• Communicate with clients via phone and in‑person.
• Execute treatment orders and maintain vaccine knowledge and schedule for canine and feline patients.
• Demonstrate excellent client and pet relations in waiting and exam rooms.
• Prepare patient files and charts.
• Answer client inquiries about basic animal care and routine procedures.
• Educate clients on over‑the‑counter products such as flea and tick preventions.
• Receive and relay telephone, fax, and e‑mail messages accurately and promptly.
• Maintain cash drawer accuracy and handle credit card, scratch‑pay, and Care Credit transactions.
• Perform routine and advanced treatments and procedures, including injections, oral medications, blood draws, basic pharmacology, and bandaging.
• Monitor anesthesia for patients undergoing surgical procedures.

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Proficient in dentals, anesthesia, sedation monitoring, and room management.
• Experienced veterinary technician (CVT preferred, but open to highly skilled, well‑rounded technicians regardless of credentialing).

Employment will require the successful completion of references and background check.
