Senior Quality Engineer - Shark Haircare

We are looking for a detail‑oriented, passionate, and dynamic individual to join our Quality team as a Senior Quality Engineer focusing on design and engineering validation for the Shark Haircare line. The role is embedded in the New Product Development process, working upstream to ensure quality is designed in, not inspected out.

Responsibilities
  • Lead and participate in design reviews, DFMEA, DVP&R, and safety reviews throughout the NPD process to proactively identify and mitigate quality risks before tooling and production release.
  • Define, develop, and execute design verification and validation plans (DVP&R) in alignment with product requirements and regulatory standards.
  • Conduct critical analysis of engineering changes (ECNs) to assess potential quality impact and prevent regression or degradation of product performance.
  • Review and approve manufacturing and test documentation to ensure customer quality requirements are met or exceeded prior to production launch.
  • Participate in design for manufacturability (DFM) reviews, ensuring early‑stage designs account for process capability and production quality controls.
  • Serve as the quality voice in cross‑functional NPD teams — representing quality requirements and consumer expectations in all design and engineering decisions.
  • Lead input tracker meetings with cross‑functional teams; surface top pre‑production quality risks and delegate corrective actions.
  • Partner with Supply Chain and Manufacturing to establish process controls and quality gates ahead of mass production.
  • Support suppliers in 8D responses and quality resolution meetings, reviewing corrective actions and validation evidence ahead of production milestones.
  • Coordinate CAPA activities tied to design or process gaps identified during pre‑production builds and pilot runs.
  • Analyze pre‑production build data, test failures, and early field learnings to identify design or process risks before market launch.
  • Define and implement quality metrics and acceptance criteria for validation activities, tracking performance against targets throughout the development cycle.
  • Drive continuous improvement of pre‑production quality processes — identifying systemic gaps and implementing sustainable solutions.
  • Present validation status, quality risk summaries, and corrective action progress to senior management and cross‑functional leadership regularly.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree (or equivalent experience) in Mechanical Engineering, Quality Engineering, Product Development, Human Factors Engineering, or a related field.
  • 4+ years of engineering experience with direct involvement in design verification and validation activities, preferably in consumer goods.
  • Hands‑on experience with DFMEA, DVP&R, design reviews, and engineering change management.
  • Demonstrated understanding of product development life cycles, document and design change control, and verification and validation methodologies.
  • Exceptional analytical, problem‑solving, and root‑cause analysis skills.
  • Strong communication skills — able to present clearly to all levels of the organization, from engineering teams to senior executives.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint;
    SharePoint knowledge a plus.
  • Able to manage competing priorities in a fast‑paced, deadline‑driven environment.
  • Collaborative and self‑directed — comfortable working both independently and as part of a cross‑functional team.
  • Preferred:
Experience at a consumer goods company with high‑volume, rapid NPD cycles.
  • Preferred:
Familiarity with supplier quality processes including PPAP and incoming quality controls.
  • Preferred:
Exposure to human factors engineering or usability validation methods.
  • Preferred:
Ability to travel as required to manufacturing sites or supplier facilities.
