Position Summary

The Quality Assurance Associate – CBDS & Employment Services supports the Director of Quality Assurance in ensuring compliance, quality, and continuous improvement across Community-Based Day Supports (CBDS), Supported Employment, and other day and employment services.

This position focuses on certification readiness, person-centered service delivery, and compliance with Department of Developmental Services (DDS) regulations while partnering with program leadership to improve quality outcomes.

Essential Responsibilities
  • Compliance & Certification Auditing
    • Conduct routine audits of CBDS and employment programs to assess compliance with:
    • DDS certification standards and indicators
    • Service documentation requirements, including:
      • ISP implementation
      • Data collection
      • Attendance records
      • Billing alignment
    • Agency policies and procedures
    • Review documentation for accuracy, completeness, and consistency.
    • Identify compliance deficiencies and support the development of corrective action plans.
    • Track corrective actions and verify completion.
  • Quality Improvement & Outcomes Monitoring
    • Analyze audit findings, program performance, and individual outcomes, including:
      • Community participation
      • Employment goals
      • Skill development
    • Identify trends and opportunities for improvement.
    • Support the development and implementation of quality improvement initiatives.
    • Monitor progress toward key performance indicators (KPIs) and certification standards.
  • Service Delivery & Person-Centered Review
    • Review services to ensure alignment with:
      • Individual Support Plans (ISPs)
      • Person-centered goals and outcomes
      • Meaningful day and employment expectations
    • Evaluating documentation of progress toward goals.
    • Reviewing evidence of community integration.
    • Identifying gaps between planned services and actual service delivery.
  • Incident Review & Risk Monitoring
    • Review incident reports related to Day and Employment Services.
    • Ensure incidents are:
      • Documented accurately
      • Addressed promptly
      • Compliant with DDS requirements
    • Identify trends involving:
      • Attendance concerns
      • Safety issues
      • Community-based risks
    • Support follow-up activities and risk mitigation efforts.
  • Certification & Survey Readiness
    • Prepare programs for DDS certification reviews.
    • Conduct mock certification audits and readiness assessments.
    • Provide guidance regarding:
      • Documentation expectations
      • Certification indicators
    • Assist with gathering documentation and responding to survey findings.
  • Training & Technical Assistance
    • Provide training and coaching to CBDS and employment staff on:
      • Documentation requirements
      • Data collection standards
      • Person-centered service delivery
      • DDS certification requirements
    • Identifying training needs in collaboration with Quality Assurance leadership and operations.
    • Supporting continuous staff development.
  • Collaboration & Communication
    • Partner with Program Directors, Assistant Directors, and employment staff to resolve compliance concerns.
    • Participate in:
      • Program meetings
      • Quality Assurance reviews
      • Interdisciplinary team meetings, as needed
    • Communicate audit findings, trends, and recommendations clearly to leadership.
  • Qualifications Preferred Education
    • Bachelor's degree in Human Services or a related field.
    Experience
    • 3-5 years of experience in CBDS, day habilitation, or employment services within DDS-funded programs.
    Knowledge
    • DDS certification standards for CBDS and Employment Services
    • Individual Support Plan (ISP) development and implementation
    • Data collection and outcome measurement
