The Staff Accountant will assist the Accounting Department with general accounting operations. This role will work to ensure accuracy and effectiveness in all of our accounting tasks. In addition to assisting in the accounting team regular daily duties this role will focus on tasks relating to accounts receivable and sales taxes.
Responsibilities- Verify, allocate, post and reconcile accounts payable
- Assist with monthly sales entries
- Produce error-free accounting reports
- Post general ledger journal entries
- Spot errors and suggest ways to improve efficiency and spending
- Ensure compliance with sales tax regulations
- Assist with preparation and filing of sales tax reports
- Track fixed assets
- Support month-end and year-end close process
- Bank reconciliation
- Track prepaid expenses
- Additional duties as assigned
- Experience as staff accountant
- Knowledge of basic accounting procedures
- Familiarity with financial accounting statements
- Experience with general ledger functions and the month-end/year-end close process
- Hands-on experience with Sage Intacct is a plus
- MS Excel skills
- Accuracy and attention to detail
- Aptitude for numbers and quantitative skills
- Associates or bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or relevant field
