Loan Servicing
As the Vehicle Title and Lien Specialist, you'll process collateral documentation and ensure liens are properly perfected, protecting the credit union's and our members' interests every step of the way. You will work in a high-volume, team-oriented environment where accuracy, organization, and consistent follow-up make all the difference.
This role blends behind-the-scenes precision with member-facing service — partnering with internal teams, dealers, DMV/DNR offices, and other financial institutions to keep collateral documentation moving efficiently and correctly.
As the Vehicle Title and Lien Specialist with CFCU, you will:
- Deliver outstanding service. Provide high-quality service to both external and internal members.
- Track and resolve unperfected liens. Review post-closing reports to identify missing lien filings, and track, report, and follow up on all unperfected liens to ensure timely resolution.
- Build strong partnerships. Communicate regularly with members and third-party partners — dealers, DMV/DNR offices, and other financial institutions — to obtain the documentation needed to perfect our lien, and respond to lender inquiries regarding loan requirements and pending exceptions.
- Perfect and process documentation. Accurately prepare and submit all necessary DMV/DNR documentation to secure lien perfection, and complete loan maintenance requests involving collateral corrections and updates.
- Maintain accurate records. Perform daily and monthly GL account balancing, provide management with updates on dormant or outstanding unperfected liens, and review daily reports to process the release or transfer of perfected liens on paid-off loans.
- Keep operations running smoothly. Monitor and process communications within shared departmental inboxes, and maintain DMV license plate and sticker inventory in accordance with regulatory and internal controls.
We are looking for a combination of:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- One+ years of lending or financial services experience preferred.
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Effective written and verbal communication.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office, Dealer Track, Docu Sign, and other web-based systems preferred.
- A passion for providing outstanding service to our members — internal and external.
- A drive to work hard, find solutions, and have fun.
