About the Opportunity
Provide EPP support to the Prepress Department by preparing graphic files for production.
Responsibilities- Demonstrate commitment to safety and perform duties in accordance with company safety policies and GMP guidelines.
- Understand job ticket information to determine quantity, special work instructions, and other special customer requirements.
- Create and manipulate MAC & PC files with several graphic design programs.
- Work with Macintosh platforms using Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, and Acrobat PDF files.
- Prepare Photoshop images for optimal Flexo printing and pre‑flight documents according to printing standards.
- Interact with customer service, external customers and other business leaders regarding job status and problem‑solving scenarios.
- Function in a highly technical, team environment under high stress, tight deadlines, and interruptions.
- Learn new equipment and procedures quickly; pass knowledge to others.
- Apply knowledge of imposition, color separation and trapping for press.
- Coordinate press operations, work with press operators to manage projects.
- Create mylar dieline layouts and understand department communication systems, schedules, time/attendance system, and job reporting requirements.
- Actively participate in Lean manufacturing initiatives.
- Perform other duties as assigned by management.
- High School diploma or equivalent required.
- Formal post‑secondary graphic communications training in the various computer software used in electronic prepress.
- 3‑5 years of Flexographic Prepress experience for wide‑web printing; additional digital, offset, and flexographic printing experience a plus.
- Knowledge of Esko software, Desk Pack, and Artpro+ considered an asset.
- Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign.
- Ability to interact with external customers to solve graphics problems and troubleshoot art files.
- Strong proficiency in Adobe Photoshop, color correction, image optimization.
- Working knowledge of object‑based screening processes and application in production workflows.
- Ability to work overtime and weekends as required.
- Ability to work safely, in a constant state of alertness.
- Effective team player with strong communication skills.
