Georgia‑Pacific is seeking a Test Fixture Designer with a mechanical design focus to support our devices test lab at the Neenah, Wisconsin Technical Center. This role offers the chance to shape lab operations in an environment that fosters innovation and rewards value creation.
What You Will Do- Assist in planning, developing and executing device and product validation test plans for GP PRO equipment; conduct testing and record results.
- Design, develop and implement custom test equipment, fixtures, methods and instrumentation to increase testing efficiency through automation and data acquisition.
- Assist with the development and implementation of custom test protocols for validation and verification testing.
- Design test fixtures that meet reliability, throughput, coverage, tolerance and ease‑of‑use requirements and maintain supporting documentation.
- Implement continuous improvement processes to increase lab efficiency.
- Identify validation failures, file observations, troubleshoot mechanical failures, recommend lab capability upgrades and procurements, and collaborate with cross‑functional teams for root‑cause analysis.
- Associate’s degree or higher in Electromechanical Technology or related field.
- 1+ years of experience with mechanical or functional test fixture design.
- Experience with mechanical CAD software (Solid Works preferred).
- Knowledge of automation and control systems.
- Advanced engineering degree.
- Fundamental quality knowledge such as ISO, APQP, etc.
- Knowledge of metrology and GD&T.
- Experience with electromechanical product development and/or product testing.
- Experience with prototype development.
